If I could stay up all night and still be sane tomorrow

After I tucked the kids in their beds I would have an entire day to myself – imagine what I could accomplish. First I’d spend three or so hours doing something I love, like painting, reading, journaling or spending time with God under the stars. Next, the house! If it wasn’t already spotless (*ahem*) I would whip out my cleaning supplies and sensational organizing skills and clean and organize for another four or five hours to my heart’s content until my house was sparkling and perfectly orderly, the way I always dream for it to be. After that I would take a deep breath and write goals for the next day then take a little nap just because I could and just because the house was quiet still and I had ten hours of absolute uninterrupted time. When my nap was over I would do what I love the most: greet my rested little ones with hugs and kisses and whispering words and watch the sun push shadows across the hills. If I could stay up all night and still be sane tomorrow I would… but I can’t and right now nothing looks better than sleep. Nope, not even a perfectly organized house… although I’d have to admit it’s pretty close.
